Saturday, April 15th, 2006

Well I was looking through some of my files, and came across a Word document titled something like email Tom. I opened it, and our first few e-mails posted were on there! Here’s the first e-mail ever posted by the man himself, Tom Green. From September 2005. Subject: PLEASE RESPOND TOM!! Hey Tom, I know you get a ton of e-mails… this is like the 10th time I’ve written to you. You are my idol. Me and my friends do skits just like yours sometimes. My dream is to meet you and maybe have a show such as your old one. I am hoping you get the Conan slot 2009!! I am helping you with my petition!! Over 100 signatures!! This was taken from www.the1secondfilm.com

Subject: Tom today? + 3,000th Producer

I was working late at the office last night, and waiting for Tom Green’s call when all of a sudden the phone started ringing. Must finally be Tom, I thought. But no, it was the ‘Three Amigos’ from Pitsburgh; three of Tom Green’s # 1 fans. Turns out Tom accidentially posted our phone number on his blog. Ha!

The Three Amigos are actually these young kids, 15-10, in Pittsburgh who have started a Petition to get Tom Green the NBC Late Night job left open by Conan O’Brien when Conan replaces Jay Leno in 2009. I signed their Petition about a month ago and they wanted to call me to say thanks. They have even put me on their ‘Legendary Signatures’ page, which is quite the honor. Check out their Blog and sign their Petition; leave your phone number and they might even give you a call.

It’s amazing how devoted these kids are to Tom; they have made their website from scratch and are also making posters, videos, banners, etc. to promote their Petition- and they still have 3 more years to go! I gave them some marketing advice. I also told they would make great Producers some day and they seemed pretty excited about buying a credit and getting on IMDb along with Tom. Keep an eye out for these kids, they definately are persistent, and aren’t afraid of making the ‘cold call.’

Please go check out The 1-Second Film website, and if you would like, you can get your name in a movie, and on IMDb for only one dollar. We have each donated about 13 dollars each and about a total of 32 dollars to their fund. To add, almost 900 signatures… Who will be the one to garner it? And shout-out and special thanks to our boy, Steve Walls, fellow Deputy, for posting the Petition up as well! North Bay! A&P! Bags of milk!

How it all started…

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

It was by pure accident that we got addicted to Tom Green.

During sometime in 2004, we were hanging out at Richie’s house. Richie was flipping through the channels to find something funny to watch on TV. We came across The Subway Monkey Hour and we looked at the information for it, which listed Tom Green.

At this point, we had heard of Tom from previous years before. We had even seen the Piggy Hill music video before from the MTV The Tom Green Show. Eric, also, had seen Stealing Harvard previously. We put the special on and we loved it, because it was hilarious. We instantly got hooked into the comedy of Tom Green. And the next day, after the sleep over at Richie’s house, we all hung out at Eric and Hobo Joey’s house. And on MTV2 three episodes of The Tom Green Show were airing. This is fate because before that and still to this day, that has never aired before.

After we had been into this for about several months, we decided to see if he had an official website. Tom did, and we e-mailed him on there. And one day he posted it and responded. We were overly excited and almost in shock after seeing this, and now we have had almost one hundred e-mails posted on www.TomGreen.com, and now are the Top Deputies.

Now, we are going to tell about the Petition origin. One day in July of 2005, while Richie was on vacation, Eric was surfing around the Web at Tom Green-related things. He came across the IMDb page of his credits, and was taking a look at the archives of the message board. There was a topic that we 100% completely agreed with. Tom should get his show back. We read the post and it told about the 2009 situation. That is this - In a few years, 2009, Conan O’Brien from will be taking over Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show.

Leno has already signed the contract with NBC, stating that this is true and he will be retiring then. This leaves an open slot for NBC Late Night in 2009 television, and who else but Tom Green himself. On a reply to the topic, someone named Dominic Montoya said that he would help and back up anyone who started this sort of Campaign or Petition. Eric Googled for free Petitions and found ThisCause.org. We started the Petition on July 28, 2005, ironically, two days before Tom’s birthday. The Petition was known after it had gotten posted multiple times on Tom’s website, and now we get new signatures for the Tom Green for Conan in `09 Petition everyday. If you haven’t, please sign it. And if you have, spread the word. Legends have signed this Petition, for example, Tom Green’s father, Dick Green, Tom Green’s brother, Joe Green, Tom Green’s girlfriend and model, Christa Campbell, comedian Andy Dick, comic star Andy Milonakis, and many more!

Awesome.

Peace.
