Back In The USA – Thank You Australia

Well that was another amazing adventure.  Thank you to everyone in Australia for making the past 5 weeks incredibly exciting and fun.  To everyone who came out to the shows all across the country, thank you.  I can’t wait to come back and see you all again.

I am now back in the USA, at my home in Los Angeles.  I am spending the next few weeks writing jokes.  Yes!  More jokes!  I’m looking forward to you all seeing my first comedy special that will be coming out this year.  And I am looking forward to writing my next one one.  This is what I am embarking on now.

As human beings we must remain vigilante in our search for the truth about the world we live in.  I think the mainstream media does a fair job on reporting to us what is real.  But we need more than a fair job.  Our life is at stake.  As people we do not deserve to be ripped off and denied our right to the truth.  We work hard, we make money, we pay taxes, and other people spend that money on our behalf.  I would like to think that we are being treated fairly.  But the older I get the more concerned I have become about whether or not this is true.

What is it that concerns you most about our world today?  I would like to know.  If you could please tweet me your thoughts @Tomgreenlive I would appreciate it.  I am home now, writing ideas, and contemplating what it is that needs to be held up to the light in my show.  I look forward to interacting with you online and coming up with ideas together about what it is that should matter to us most.

Stand up comedy is perhaps the last refuge for the truth.  It is important that we always have a public place in our world to speak openly and honestly about our thoughts, feelings, and opinions.  I prefer to laugh at our problems.  So now I get up on stage in some city every night and tell jokes.  And there is laughter and happiness and the energy from it keeps me sane.  Hopefully laughter can help us all deal with the simple fact that life is not always fair.  Perhaps doing stand-up comedy is now just a coping mechanism for me when I am confronted by this idea?  Or perhaps, just perhaps, some of this rambling and pontificating I am doing on stage every night will actually change the world for someone.  If that can happen, even just a tiny bit, then all of this has been worthwhile.
